En el Parque de Los Vientos, se disputó la multitudinaria Media Maratón “Catamarca Ciudad Corre” con la participación de más de 4.500 participantes. La competencia repartió más de cuatro millones de pesos en premios en efectivo y estuvo organizada por la Municipalidad de La Capital, a través de la Subsecretaría de Deporte y Juventud.
Se corrió en las distancias de 21k, 10k, 5k y 2k de caminata familiar. También, se hizo la carrera inclusiva con la presencia de «Los Tritones».
El gran ganador de los 21k fue Julián Molina, que ya se prepara para el Sudamericano con el objetivo de clasificar al Mundial. En los 21k femenino, la ganadora fue la Tucumana Agustina Lanser.
En los 10k, el vencedor fue Pablo Toledo de Santiago del Estero en masculino, seguido por el catamarqueño Marcelo «Chelo» Fabricius. En damas, la ganadora fue la friense Nelida Peñaflor.
El mejor catamarqueño fue Joaquín Narváez en masculino y Anabel Oviedo Zelarayán en damas.
Los ganadores de las distancias de 21k y 10k se llevaron $300.000 en efectivo. Los segundos de las distancias se llevaron $250.00, para los terceros $200.000, para los cuartos $150.000 y $100.000 para los quintos.
