Javier «JOHNNY» HERRERA peleará el próximo 19 de noviembre frente al dominicano FRANCIS VILLAR FROMETA en Uruguay, por el título Fedelatín AMB de la categoría Ligero.
Para el catamarqueño será la tercera pelea en el exterior: peleó con Matías Romero en Uruguay en enero de 2019 y en noviembre de 2021 cayó en Panamá, ante el cubano Pablo Vicente.
En diálogo con Ring Catamarca, el púgil comentó sobre su presente y el trabajo con el nuevo equipo. “Estamos arrancando un nuevo ciclo y muy ilusionado con el profe Tapia, puliendo muchas cosas, vengo de una mala racha y decidimos hacer un giro en nuestra vida y acá estamos, con toda la confianza para revertir todo lo negativo”.
Además, se refirió a un duro momento familiar que le tocó atravesar: “me enfoqué mucho en mi familia en este duro momento y en mi trabajo, mi pilar que es mi esposa, está dando su dura batalla y no podía dejarla sola ni un instante. Ella es el corazón y la cabeza del equipo, si ella no está bien no hay equipo. Gracias a mi promotor Carlos Tello que se portó como un caballero de palabra ante nuestra situación y nos brindó su total apoyo».
Con respecto a su rival, el dominicano Francis Frometa (16-0, 10 KO), Herrera manifestó que “estamos trabajado duro para que sea una gran pelea, con un rival más que bueno como lo es el invicto dominicano Francis Frometa y vamos a darlo todo”.
